Your Project Timeline

The Anchor Remodel process revolves around you, the homeowner. Our philosophy is that the homeowner is not just our client and customer, but an integral part of the team working together to make sure your home remodel project is exactly what you envisioned.

8-6 Months to Start-

Let’s Get to Know Each Other

Tell us about your vision for your home and what matters to you most. Do you need a basement to entertain guests but also includes a functional play space that can be modified as your young children become teenagers? A master bathroom with a soaking tub that becomes your personal retreat for rest and relaxation after a long work trip? The ultimate chef’s kitchen and dining room that can help you handle those large holiday gatherings with style and ease? Anchor Remodel will work with you to ensure that your project has everything you can think of, there is no such thing as too outside the box!

5-3 Months to Project Start- Meticulous Planning

Anchor Remodel wants to be known as the best home remodeler in the Kansas City area. We only use subcontractors that hold themselves to the same standard. During this time we work with the homeowner and all members of our subcontractor teams to make sure we have a detailed plan of action, and that all possible variables are accounted for. This ensures the project finishes on time and on budget. We make sure the homeowner is informed and educated about what to expect from all aspects of the project so there are no surprises.

2-0 Months to Project Start-

Non-Stop Preparation

Making sure your project is as easy as it can be is all about focusing on the little things. For example, many appliances sustain damage during shipment, and shipping delays are common so replacement may take months. Let’s preorder the appliances and make sure they get to site day 1 for inspection. This way if the appliances arrive damaged we are able to reorder them and make sure that at the end of your project your brand new kitchen doesn’t have an empty space where your refrigerator should be.

You may assume you shouldn’t bother your contractor about some small details about your family and home. Do these little things matter to you? Then they matter to Anchor Remodel. A week before your project is set to begin we hold a preconstruction meeting with all homeowners to make sure your project has as little impact of your day to day life as possible. Is there a certain entrance and exit you prefer we use? Is there a family pet we need to be mindful of? Do your kids get home from school each day at 3pm and need a quiet place for homework? We will cover all of these topics with you to make sure we keep disruptions to a minimum.

Project Start- Protecting Your Home

During your project Anchor Remodel considers itself the steward of your home. We take this responsibility very seriously. Often contractors incur surprise costs due to unintended damage and poor worksite cleanliness. The first days of your project are spent making a plan to ensure the worksite is always organized and installing dust containment equipment throughout your home to protect the spaces where we aren’t working as well as your home’s mechanical equipment.

Anchor Remodel proudly uses Buildertrend, a construction management software that maximizes our efficiency and communication. Through Buildertrend, you will have access to your own personal homeowner website dedicated to your project. Through your homeowner site you will be able to see a full schedule of your project, daily logs and pictures of the work performed, request and changes to your project, ask your project manager questions, make payments and much more. This helps to make sure that you, the homeowner, are fully involved in the day to day of your project.

0-2 Months- Major Work Begins

During your remodel, an Anchor Remodel Project Manager will be on-site every day to supervise the work. This phase of your project will typically involve demolition and major mechanical work including HVAC, plumbing and electrical work.

While we may subcontract demolition, an Anchor Remodel team member will always supervise or participate. This way we can be sure that all major structures or mechanical elements hidden in your walls, floors and ceilings are accounted for and do not get damaged.

Miscommunication and scheduling issues with subcontractors is a typical reason for delays. To combat these completely preventable issues Anchor Remodel has The 3 Call Rule: We call subcontractors and verify scheduling and scope of work 2 weeks, 1 week and the day before they begin on your project. We will always make sure the subcontractors start and complete work on time.

3-4 Months- Sealing in your space

This phase of your project will involve drywall and painting. Admittedly, this phase of the project can be difficult on homeowners. During the major mechanical phase, homeowners are excited to begin work and large aspects of your of happen quickly. Once this stage begins, the “honeymoon phase” may wear off. Drywall installation is tedious and can produce dust that can invade every corner of your home. Painting produces fumes that may make it difficult to be inside.

This will not happen with Anchor Remodel. In addition to the dust containment installed at the beginning of your project, we will use filtration systems to keep the air in your home safe from dust and fumes. The end of every single workday is dedicated to a thorough cleaning of the workspace.

5-8 Months- Creating Your Vision

Once drywall and painting is complete the real fun begins! This is the Anchor Remodel team’s favorite phase of your project because this is where we get to put our full craftsmanship and skill on display. From the installation of your custom-built cabinets and countertops, to the imported marble tile in your bathroom and anything and everything in between, this phase does not end until all work has been completed and we achieve perfection.

After Your Project

Each Anchor Remodel project is accompanied by a 1 year warranty. While most remodeling companies offer some sort of warranty on their work, there are countless stories of homeowners pulling their hair out trying to get there contractor back to their home to fix imperfections that do inevitably arise with settlement and beginning everyday use. You will not experience this with Anchor Remodel. We will complete a scheduled walk through of your project two months after your project is complete, and again at ten months. We will point out any imperfections and get them fixed, and of course you are welcome to reach out to us at any time while your warranty is active.
